Term / Status: Permanent Full-time (70 hours biweekly)

Classification / Salary: Social Program Officer (Growth to R24) / Position starts at $71,771 to $76,071 annually

Team: Newton

Location: Surrey (hybrid 3 days in office after passing a 6-month probation)

About the opportunity:

As a Facilitator at CLBC, you will represent CLBC as the primary contact for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. This includes:

  • Supporting and facilitating access to generic services, informal supports, and CLBC-funded services, including the allocation of small targeted amounts of funding.
  • Assisting individuals and their families in identifying activities and resources to reach their goals, supporting exploration of their capacity, and enhancing their ability to make informed decisions.
  • Providing information about informal community supports, generic services, CLBC services, and peer and family support services available.
  • Collaborating with other service providers to respond to crisis situations and resolve problems.
  • Coordinating services.
  • Creating and implementing individual support plans, including informal and formal safeguards.
  • Helping individuals and families connect to their community, building on their strengths and assets.
  • Confirming eligibility for CLBC-funded services.

What you will bring:

  • Preference given to candidates with a Bachelor of Social Work or an equivalent degree.
  • Experience working in the Community Living field with children, youth, or adults with developmental disabilities and their families.
  • An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
