Job description

Position Summary:

The Fabricator is responsible for constructing high-quality, custom metal structures and components according to engineering and architectural specifications. The role includes interpreting blueprints and technical drawings, operating metalworking equipment, and ensuring that fabricated parts meet quality standards and comply with safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret engineering and architectural drawings, sketches, and work specifications.
  • Lay out, measure, and mark materials according to templates or plans.
  • Operate light metalworking machinery, including shears, brakes, punches, and drill press equipment.
  • Use computerized laser or plasma cutting equipment for precision cutting of sheet metal.
  • Fit and join sheet metal components to fabricate complete products.
  • Install fabricated sheet metal products following building codes and project specifications.
  • Grind and buff seams, joints, and rough surfaces for smooth finishes.
  • Inspect final products for quality and ensure installations meet required specifications.
  • Assist with general shop maintenance and other departmental duties.
  • Support welding and electrical teams as needed.
  • Perform errands and materials pick-up as assigned.
  • Complete other duties and responsibilities as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in oilfield fabrication.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering and architectural drawings.
  • Proficiency in operating light and computer-controlled metalworking equipment.
