Job summary

Martech Electrical Systems Ltd. is seeking a driven Fabrication Project Coordinator for our Castlegar, BC facility. The role reports to the Fabrication Manager and covers bid reviews, drawing reviews, scheduling, and project documentation.

Based in Castlegar, the position runs Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, with compensation based on experience and qualifications. Benefits begin after probation, with pay between $23.00 and $29.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write reports and correspondence.
• Ability to work effectively with other team members.
• Ability to interpret and administer contract details.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Experience with Microsoft Suite of Products (Excel, Word, Outlook etc).
• Class 5 Driver’s License and clean driver’s abstract.

Responsibilities

• Bid reviews to ensure all submission and documentation requirements are met
• Drawing reviews, take offs, material lists
• Assist in developing project schedules as required
• Project documentation organization and management
• Coordinate project activities, resources, equipment, site requirements, and information
• Vendor Communication – Material sourcing, Obtaining quotes, Ordering material, Issuing PO’s, Receiving & Counting Material
• Clear communication with clients, vendors, and engineers
• Work with fabrication manager on cost control systems on all projects, including receiving, approving, coding, invoices, and sub-contractor progresses
• Monitoring progress of projects and weekly reporting
• Managing the contract and tracking extra work and change requests
• Submitting accurate detailed progress claims
• Representing the company in a professional manner

We are currently seeking energetic, team-oriented individual looking for career growth and development to join our fast-paced Fabrication Project Management Group in our Castlegar, BC office.

Martech is a family-owned business that has been serving the Castlegar and West Kootenay region for the past 30 years. Our facility and shop provide services to industrial, commercial, and institutional clients in the area, specializing in the repair/rebuild/sale of electric motors, welding machines, water systems, pumps, and standby generators.

The Full-Time position of Fabrication Project Coordinator will report to the Fabrication Manager and will be responsible for all aspects of the assigned projects, including:

• Bid reviews to ensure all submission and documentation requirements are met

JOB DETAILS

• Full-Time position
• The role is based out of our 1700 Woodland Drive, Castlegar BC facility.
• Schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:00AM – 3:30PM (40 hours a week)
• Compensation based on experience, training, and education
• Benefits available after probationary period
