Bush, Bohlman & Partners LLP is an industry leading structural engineering consulting firm specializing in the design of building projects throughout Western Canada. Typical projects include schools, health care facilities, universities, airports, civic buildings, commercial, and multi-family residential. The firm has been in business providing exceptional services for 55 years and currently has a staff of 40 engineers and technicians. Our office is located in beautiful Coal Harbor right beside Stanley Park in Downtown Vancouver.

Job Description:

Responsibilities will include:

  1. Structural design of new buildings, renovations or seismic retrofits, drawing review, field review, structural assessments and report writing.
  2. Work within an integrated team environment to coordinate drawings with the architects and other project consultants.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Must be registered as an E.I.T. or P.Eng. with EGBC.
  • Knowledge and minimum two years’ experience working with at least two of steel, concrete and timber design standards and the BC Building Code.

Additional Requirements:

  • Applicants must have good communication skills and be able to manage time effectively.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Versatile with structural analysis software. Preferred applicants will be proficient with ETABs and S-Frame. Experience with SAFE and ForteWEB are assets.
  • Preferred candidates will have work experience with the design and field review of commercial, residential and/or institutional buildings and experience in coordinating design work with the broader building design team.

Compensation:

We offer a competitive salary with benefits package and an excellent progressive learning environment. Our standard work week is 37.5 hours, with paid overtime when necessary. We provide profit sharing for all employees. We support continuing education and cover costs for courses.
