F-35 Maintenance Manager | Lockheed Martin

Join the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Field Sustainment team as an F-35 Aircraft Maintenance Manager for our Edwards Air Force Base flight test site. This position will provide direction to the F-35 Integrated Test Force on second shift.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Position requires extensive (at least 15 years) professional experience in managing flight test or high tempo operational maintenance and logistics environment.
  2. Experienced with managing extensive aircraft modifications: Planning, Scheduling, Execution and closeout—to include Hardware and Software modifications and checkouts.
  3. Experience in areas of creating and executing project, cost, schedule and risk management.
  4. Experience with flight test operations.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Provide technical direction and oversight of daily flight line operations; interaction with Ops personnel, Ops schedulers, Ground Ops, Air Vehicle Systems and Material Review Board Engineers, Quality Engineering, Air Vehicle Managers and Air Force Production Superintendent(s) and organization leadership.
  2. Coordinate and integrate efforts of the "purple" (Air Force, Lockheed, Government Civilians and Government Contractors) team as well as Admin tasks such as performance appraisals, timekeeping, staffing & disciplinary actions for both salaried and hourly personnel.
  3. Scope of responsibilities includes detailed planning, requirements management, risk management, and flight test maintenance operations management. Oversee and direct maintenance activities associated with the management of flight test operations.

Desired Skills:

  1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college.
  2. Broad military aircraft support background and advanced interpersonal and communication skills to be effective in a high tempo flight test environment.
  3. Ability to effectively communicate with Customers, team partner companies, and local base authorities critical for success.
  4. Prior United States Air Force or civilian equivalent operational maintenance & logistics experience highly desirable; specifically, organizational, and intermediate maintenance.
  5. Experience with Earned Value Management a plus.
  6. Experience creating and maintaining schedules within Microsoft Project a plus.

Security Clearance Information:

This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Work Schedule Information:

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five-day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
