Job summary

Baxter in Alliston is seeking an Extrusion Operator to run the extrusion line, ensure quality, and perform QA documentation in a fast-paced GMP manufacturing setting.

You will work on an afternoon shift (Mon-Thu 16:00-2:00 EST) and participate in line clearances, die changes, and product release activities. A high school diploma and reliable attendance are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience in GMP manufacturing environment.
• Experience in food or manufacturing industry.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks and maintain quality.
• Demonstrated good attendance and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Run the extrusion line and ensure proper materials are used, making adjustments for quality.
• Perform QA documentation for extrusion and release of product.
• Duties performed on a rotational basis and manage line clearance as needed.
• Make die changes, perform quality checks, and document results.
• Package and label boxes, identify skids, and handle materials in the line area.
• Enter shop floor data in systems and support 6S and CGMP practices.

Shift

Afternoon shift (Monday to Thursday 16:00h - 2:00h EST) at our Alliston facility.

What You'll Be Doing

• You will play a critical role by running the Extrusion line, ensure proper materials are used, make adjustments as necessary to produce a quality product.
• Perform all necessary Q.A. and documentation for Extrusion dept. and release of product.
• Duties performed on a rotational basis.
• Perform line clearance as needed and perform die changes.
• Perform quality checks and documentation for Extrusion department and release of product.
• Make up boxes with liners, pack tubing in boxes, put fill boxes on skids, identify & strap skids.
• Use of GME to enter shop floor & order raw materials, as necessary.
• Set-up and make adjustments on machine as necessary to produce a quality product.
• Support the facility LEAN enterprise journey through the use of tools including but not limited to 6S.
• Duties performed on a continual or intermittent basis.
• Learn, understand and apply thorough quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
• Notify the supervisor and take appropriate action if any safety, quality, mechanical or discrepancy issues occur.
• Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles.

• Must have the ability to comprehend Baxter Specifications / SOP’s and determine apropriate corrective actions.

Equipment Used

Extruder, 4 wheel trolleys, walkie & manual jacks, Q.A. tools and gauges, cutter, coiler, and computer Garbing Processes.

You may also be entitled to a shift premium for all shift premium eligible hours which will be included in your bi‑weekly pay.
