Qualifications

Job description

Pay Range: $21.66 - $24.27

Position: Extreme Cleaner

The Extreme Cleaner is responsible for providing household assistance to VHA clients, ensuring public health standards are met. Responsibilities include decluttering, cleaning, sanitizing, laundry, and organizing within the client’s service plan, promoting client independence and delaying institutionalization. All activities are conducted respecting confidentiality and organizational policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform home cleaning tasks such as washing floors, sinks, and surfaces; vacuuming; dusting; cleaning appliances; laundry; waste disposal; furniture polishing; window cleaning; and organizing cupboards and appliances.
  • Complete tasks according to client specifications, using client-provided products and equipment, within pre-set timeframes.
  • Accurately record time-keeping and submit reports as per VHA policy.
  • Participate in team meetings and project teams to support service development.
  • Assist in workload management to achieve positive outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • At least one year of experience in private or institutional cleaning.
  • Experience working with vulnerable clients with age-related or mental health conditions is an asset.
  • Good physical and mental health.
  • Ability to work independently following instructions and collaboratively with the care team.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing English (equivalent to Grade 8).
  • Flexibility to support diverse client needs.
