Description
The Fit Tester will be responsible for conducting fit testing in line with the Lake of the Woods District Hospital Respiratory Protection Program. As part of the larger program to mitigate risk of respiratory hazards to LWDH staff, fit testing is a recognized tool to assess the fit of a specific respirator model and size to the face of the user.

The Fit Tester will be responsible for providing education to staff on the importance of correct donning/doffing technique and fit checking of respiratory protective equipment (RPE).

Qualifications

  • Experience in an acute healthcare environment
  • Knowledge and ability to use respiratory protection equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a consultative, confident and approachable manner with all relevant parties, particularly staff undergoing fit testing and their managers.
  • Well-developed verbal communication and interpersonal skills and attention to detail with the ability to interact with a variety of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as to contribute effectively as a participative team member within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Ability to accept advice and direction in a constructive and mature manner and exhibit change as appropriate.
  • Demonstrated ability to professionally and expediently respond to the needs of management and staff.
  • Display adaptability and flexibility to meet the changing operational needs of the business
