Job summary

Agnico Eagle Mines Limited is seeking an Exploration Supervisor to join the Ontario Regional Exploration Team. Based in Dobie, ON, you will plan and manage exploration drilling, mapping, sampling, and geophysics, while guiding field teams and contractors to safe, efficient operations.

You will mentor geologists, integrate multi-disciplinary data, and contribute to the exploration pipeline with strong technical interpretation, preparing internal reports and interfacing with corporate updates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in geology or geological engineering.
  • Professional Geologist (P.Geo.) registration is required or pursued.
  • 7+ years in mineral exploration with field programs and drilling.
  • Experience handling deep (>1500 m) drilling is an asset.
  • Strong ability to interpret geological data for exploration decisions.
  • Experience mentoring field teams and coordinating field activities.
  • Full driving license is required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver exploration programs (drilling, mapping, sampling, geophysics).
  • Lead field teams and contractors with safe, efficient operations.
  • Mentor geologists and students; integrate geological data to refine models.
  • Contribute to exploration pipeline through technical interpretation.
  • Prepare technical reports, scope of work and proposals.
  • Publish results for corporate reports and quarterly updates.
  • Maintain QA/QC, sampling and analytical practices.
  • Communicate results and plans to the broader team.
  • Promote Health, Safety, Environmental and Cultural standards.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Geology or Geological Engineering
Postgraduate education
Professional Geologist (P.Geo.)
7+ years mineral exploration experience
Experience with deep (>1500m) drilling
Strong geological data interpretation
Field teams mentoring
Coordination of field activities
Valid Driver's License

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE

Reporting to the Exploration General Supervisor, you will be part of the Ontario Regional Exploration Team. You will be actively involved in planning and running programs, turning data into decisions in real time. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

  • Plan and deliver exploration programs (drilling, mapping, sampling, geophysics), adapting to field conditions and results in real time.
  • Lead field teams and contractors, setting clear expectations and maintaining safe, efficient, and well-organized programs.
  • Mentor and develop geologists, and students through coaching, feedback, and hands‑on support Integrate geological, geochemical, and geophysical data to refine models, generate targets, and support project advancement.
  • Contribute to building and advancing the exploration pipeline through sound technical interpretation and decision‑making.
  • Prepare internal and technical reports, as well as scope of work and request for proposal documents.
  • Prepare results from ongoing exploration activities for corporate reports and quarterly updates.
  • Maintain strong sampling, analytical, and QA/QC practices to support reliable data and interpretations.
  • Communicate results, plans, and recommendations clearly through reporting and ongoing discussions with the broader team.
  • Promote and support Agnico Eagle’s Health, Safety, Environmental, and Cultural standards across all activities.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
  • Bachelor's Degree in Geology or Geological Engineering;
  • Postgraduate education is considered an asset;
  • Registered as a Professional Geologist (P.Geo.);
  • More than 7 years of mineral exploration experience, including field programs and diamond drilling;
  • Experience managing deep (>1500m) exploration drilling programs is considered an asset;
  • Strong technical foundation with the ability to interpret geological data and support exploration decisions;
  • Experience leading or supporting field teams, with a demonstrated ability to mentor others;
  • Experience contributing to exploration programs, including planning, execution, or coordination of field activities;

Solid working knowledge of core logging , GIS, and 3D modelling tools, with the ability to support others in their use;

  • Valid Driver's License.
Your Work Schedule:
  • Schedule: 8 days on, 6 days off, based in Dobie, near Kirkland Lake, ON.
    • Travel allowance and accommodations are provided.

In accordance with applicable legislation, the expected compensation includes base salary and potential bonus opportunity. Your individual pay will reflect your skills and experience while remaining competitive within the local market.
