Job Summary
The Expert Solution Architect – Digital Workplace and End User Devices is responsible for defining comprehensive end-to-end solutions that meet business requirements and align with Enterprise Architecture and corporate strategies. The role also ensures the successful delivery of these solutions as defined.
Main Responsibilities
- Document the existing technology portfolio and recommend improvements or alternatives.
- Develop and document architectures for end-user computing and collaboration tools.
- Design and optimize end-user computing services to enhance employee efficiency and engagement, promoting a self-service approach.
- Evaluate current and emerging cloud and infrastructure technologies.
- Lead Communities of Practice (CoPs) for effective brainstorming, governance, and change management.
- Develop standards and best practices for end-user computing.
- Create and support architectural oversight using principles, policies, and guardrails.
- Review and evaluate business requests for feasibility, impacts, risks, and recommendations.
- Collaborate with Enterprise and System Architects to shape, scope, define, and review solutions.
- Provide guidance to other Solution Architects during project engagements, ensuring solutions meet business needs and align with standards.
- Manage architectural risk mitigation, issue escalation, and resolution processes.
- Coach and support fellow Solution Architects.
Working Conditions
This role involves standard office-based work during regular hours, Monday to Friday. Due to the role's nature, the incumbent must meet tight deadlines and handle pressure effectively.
Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Information and Technology (I&T).
- At least 5 years as an IT Architect specializing in desktop and mobile management solutions.
- Experience with migrating Microsoft productivity suites from on-premises to cloud environments.
- Experience in planning and architecting Microsoft 365 solutions.
- Knowledge across architectural domains such as application, information, technology, and security.
- Ability to coach Solution Architects on new technologies and platforms.
- Experience in program and project scoping and planning.
- Familiarity with platform-based architecture and full application lifecycle management.
- Experience managing contractual agreements and procurement processes.
- Experience in Transportation or Rail sectors and in I&T security is considered an asset.
Education/Certification/Designation
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Microsoft 365 Certified Enterprise Administrator Expert, Azure Certification, or ITIL are assets.

- Knowledge of Digital and Modern Workplace concepts and cloud delivery models.
- Familiarity with multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Proficiency in English and French is a plus.
This position is posted as a grade 7. For internal candidates, the grade may be adjusted based on experience.
