Job Summary

The Expert Solution Architect – Digital Workplace and End User Devices is responsible for defining sound end-to-end solutions that meet requirements and aligning with Enterprise Architecture and corporate orientations. Furthermore, the role is accountable for ensuring that solutions are delivered as defined.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Document the existing technology portfolio and propose recommendations for improvements or alternatives.
  2. Document existing and develop new end-user computing and collaboration architectures.
  3. Design and optimize end-user computing services for employee efficiency and engagement with a self-service approach.
  4. Evaluate current and emerging cloud and infrastructure technologies.
  5. Lead Communities of Practice (CoPs) for efficient brainstorming, governance, and change management.
  6. Develop end-user computing standards and best practices.
  7. Create, support, and influence pragmatic architectural oversight, using principles, policies, and guardrails.
  8. Review, understand and evaluate business requests to resolve feasibility, impacts, risks, and recommendations.
  9. Collaborate with Enterprise and System Architectures in shaping, scoping, defining, planning and reviewing solutions.
  10. Provide direction to and align specialized architects in project engagements, ensuring proposed solutions meet business needs and are aligned with (or properly exempted from) corporate standards.
  11. Handle the architectural risk mitigation, issues escalation and resolution processes.
  12. Coach and support other Solution Architects.

Working Conditions

The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure and stress.

Requirements

Experience

  1. Minimum 10 years of experience in Information and Technology (I&T).
  2. Minimum 5 years as an IT Architect covering desktop and mobile management solutions.
  3. Experience with on-premises to cloud migration of Microsoft productivity suite.
  4. Experience in planning, architecture of all aspects of Microsoft 365 solutions.
  5. Experience with numerous architectural fields such as application, information, technology, and security.
  6. Experience and ability to coach Solution Architects on new technology platforms and approaches.
  7. Experience in program, project scoping, and planning.
  8. Experience with platform-based architecture.
  9. Experience with full application lifecycle management.
  10. Experience with contractual agreement management and procurement.
  11. Experience in Transportation or Rail*.
  12. Experience in I&T security*.

Education/Certification/Designation

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent.
  2. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)*.
  3. Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)*.
  4. Microsoft 365 Security Administrator Expert*.
  5. Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)*.
  6. Microsoft 365 Certified Enterprise Administrator Expert*.
  7. Azure Certification*.
  8. Certification for Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) concepts*.

  2. In-depth knowledge in architecture frameworks, methodologies and tools, and implementation experience in I&T.
  3. In-depth knowledge of Digital and Modern Workplace, and cloud-based delivery models.
  4. Knowledge of multiple concurrent initiatives.
  5. Fluently bilingual, both written and verbal (English, French)*.
