Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of IT Project Management experience.
  • Knowledge of data engineering concepts and technologies.
  • Experience delivering mission-critical technology products/services with minimal downtime.
  • Experience in project handover to operations and change management.
  • Strategic thinker with ability to dive into technical and operational details.
  • PMP Certification or equivalent (Prince-2, PMI-ACP).
  • Highly familiar with Agile methodologies – SAFe, Scrum, Dev-Ops, CI/CD.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with various users.
  • Ability to coordinate interdependencies across projects.
  • Experience in IT projects within the Transportation or Rail industry is an asset.
  • Fluently bilingual English and French.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

The incumbent will lead the successful delivery of strategic initiatives by aligning business objectives, stakeholder needs, and delivery execution. They are accountable for planning, governance, risk and dependency management, stakeholder engagement, and value realization throughout the project lifecycle. The role fosters collaboration across cross-functional teams, vendors, and business partners to deliver solutions that achieve intended outcomes and organizational benefits. The Project Manager provides transparent reporting and actionable insights to leadership, ensures adherence to project delivery standards and best practices, and supports continuous improvement of project governance processes. The role may also include leadership and development of project team members, fostering a high-performing and results-oriented delivery culture.

Main Responsibilities
  • Accountable for the successful delivery of large-scale, complex programs and projects, driving execution, stakeholder alignment, governance, and achievement of intended business outcomes.
  • Demonstrates broad knowledge of project delivery methodologies, governance frameworks, organizational change practices and portfolio management principles.
  • Effectively negotiates and aligns scope, funding, timelines, and priorities with project sponsors, senior leaders, and governance committees according to CN I&T operating model.
  • Provides leadership, guidance, and direction to project teams to achieve desired business outcomes.
  • Ensures transparent communication of project health thru defined performance measures, value realization, and delivery outcomes to stakeholders, senior management, and steering committees;
  • Partners with functional leaders and stakeholders to identify resources required;
  • Develops and monitors delivery roadmaps, key milestones, and success metrics to track progress and support informed decision-making.
  • Proactively identifies, assesses, manages, and escalates project risks and issues, providing mitigation strategies and decision options to support timely resolution.
  • Leads operational readiness and transition activities to ensure delivered capabilities are adopted, supportable, and positioned to achieve intended business outcomes and long-term value realization.
Requirements
  • At least 10 years of experience in IT Project Management.
  • Knowledge of data engineering concepts and technologies.
  • Experience with end-to-end delivery of mission-critical technology products/services where down time is close to zero.
  • Experience in project handover to operations along with associated change management knowledge.
  • Ability to think strategically and at the same time diving deep into technical and operational details.
  • PMP Certification or equivalent (Prince-2, PMI-ACP).
  • Highly familiar with Agile methodologies – SAFe, Scrum, Dev-Ops, continuous integration and continuous delivery.
  • Mastery of project management best practices along with strong communication skills to interact with different levels and types of users.
  • Ability to consistently deliver business value through solutions that achieve intended outcomes
  • Ability to coordinate interdependencies with other projects.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, facilitation and interpersonal skills.
  • Quick learner, autonomous and comfortable managing ambiguity in a fast paced, changing environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project Professional Server (PPM/PWA).
  • Intermediate to expert skill with MS Excel or MS PowerPoint.
  • Experience working on IT projects in the Transportation or Rail industry is an asset.
  • Fluently bilingual both written and verbal (English, French) *
  • Any knowledge for any of the above would be considered as an asset
