Job summary

Canadian National Railway Company (CN) seeks an Account Manager, Supply Chain Sales to identify opportunities with new and existing customers, understand transportation needs, and align them with CN’s service capabilities, while monitoring market developments.

You will manage a portfolio of key accounts, develop growth strategies, hit revenue targets, collaborate with Operations, cross-sell CN Transportation services, and lead contract renewals and negotiations with monthly revenue and volume

Qualifications

  • Address any potential service issues proactively with Operations personnel
  • Develop a reliable monthly revenue and volume forecast
  • Handle contract renewals and regular negotiations

Job Summary

The Account Manager, Supply Chain Sales is responsible for identifying and pursuing opportunities with both new and existing customers to sell Consumer Products. The incumbent asks customers the right questions in order to understand their transportation needs and match these to CN’s service delivery capabilities. Moreover, the incumbent needs to stay abreast of competitive developments in the customers’ markets and pursue opportunities for growth.

Main Responsibilities
  • Handle all commercial aspects of a portfolio of several key customers

Working Conditions

The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure, and stress. The role requires minimal travel (up to 20%) within Canada and the United States (U.S.).

Requirements
Experience

Sales or Marketing

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in sales or marketing, preferably within transportation and logistics services
  • Experience with major contract negotiations
Education/Certification/Designation
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Commerce, Marketing, Finance or Business Administration, or possess an equivalent designation
