City of Medicine Hat is seeking an Access and Privacy Coordinator to lead information access and privacy programs on site in Medicine Hat, AB. This permanent role requires coordinating with departments, regulators, and municipal partners to ensure compliance with applicable privacy laws.

You will bring five years of public administration experience, a Bachelor's degree, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Five years of related experience in public administration or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of Access to Information Act, Privacy Act and related legislation.
  • Knowledge of municipal legislation, records management, administrative law, and governance practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other business software; experience with agenda management software is an asset.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications in Administrative Law, Privacy Management, and Board Clerk functions.
  • Privacy-related certifications (CIPP/C, CIAPP) or related privacy education, plus Local Government Administration coursework are assets.

What you'll do
  • Lead and support the City's access to information and privacy programs, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation.
