Intact Financial Corporation is seeking an internal claims expert – Civil Liability for our Laval team. You will assist clients by phone in civil liability claims, guide them through the process, assess fault, evaluate damages and negotiate settlements when appropriate.

Requirements include a 5A adjuster certificate, college diploma or equivalent, 6–12 months of liability experience, bilingual French/English, strong client focus, and excellent communication, analytical and planning skills.

Responsabilidades

• Be attentive to the client, explain the claims path, and deliver service beyond expectations.
• Analyze the client's insurance cover and explain protections related to the claim.
• Collect versions of facts from claimants, third parties and others.
• Evaluate potential liability and support reasoning with investigation details.
• Assess the reasonableness and admissibility of claimed damages.
• Communicate developments clearly to the client.
• Document the file in accordance with company standards.
• Negotiate with third parties when appropriate.
• Manage costs and external expenses prudently.
• Collaborate with other services (subrogation, recovery, underwriting, estimation).
• Participate in catastrophe responses when they occur.

About the role

Nous sommes à la recherche un(e) expert.e en sinistre interne – Responsabilité Civile pour notre équipe grandissante!

À titre d’expert.e en sinistre interne en responsabilité civile, vous devrez assister le client au téléphone dans le cadre de sa réclamation en responsabilité civile majoritairement dans des dossiers de dommages matériels de tout genre essentiellement en lignes personnelles (dossiers 100k$ et moins). Vous serez également appelé à contribuer dans d’autres types de dossiers de responsabilité civile au besoin. Vous devrez guider l’assuré dans les diverses étapes de sa réclamation : analyser la recevabilité de la réclamation, compléter l’enquête pour déterminer la responsabilité potentielle de l’assuré et/ou des tiers, évaluer les dommages réclamés et négocier, le cas échéant, un règlement avec le tiers.

Ce que vous ferez :

• Être à l’écoute du client, expliquer clairement le parcours qu’entreprendra la réclamation, répondre à ses questions et livrer un service qui dépasse ses attentes.
• Analyser les garanties d’assurance du client et lui expliquer clairement quelles sont ses protections en lien avec la réclamation présentée.
• Recueillir les versions des faits sur les circonstances du sinistre auprès des assurés, des tierces parties et d’autres intervenants.
• Évaluer la responsabilité potentielle de l’assuré et/ou de tierce partie en appuyant son raisonnement sur des éléments d’enquête pertinent et bien étayé.
• Évaluer le caractère raisonnable et la recevabilité des dommages réclamés à l’assuré.
• Communiquer efficacement avec le client pour l’informer des développements.
• Bien annoter et documenter son dossier en respectant les normes et directives de l’entreprise.
• Négocier efficacement, si opportun, les réclamations avec les tiers.
• Assurer une saine gestion des frais et des coûts externes.
• Collaborer activement avec les divers services tel que l’assignation, le recouvrement, la souscription, l’estimation, etc.
• Participer aux catastrophes lorsqu’elles se présentent.

Ce que vous mettrez à profit :

• Détenir un certificat d’expert en sinistre 5A.
• Détenir un diplôme collégial et/ou formation équivalente et/ou jugée pertinente.
• Expérience d’expert en sinistre (6 mois à 1 an) ayant touché à quelques dossiers de responsabilité civile (un atout).
• Bilinguisme (français / anglais) – Nécessité de traiter des dossiers de réclamations d’une clientèle anglophone sur une base régulière.
• Être orienté vers le client.
• Être bien à l’aise de gérer du volume.
