Job Summary

The Expert, Cloud Network Security Operation Center is responsible for providing technical leadership to the Network Security Operations Center team, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of CN's information assets while supporting cloud security solutions. As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), the incumbent oversees development, collaborates with relevant teams, and offers technical assessments and recommendations for emerging issues and projects. The role involves guiding both permanent employees and consultants, especially for new, innovative projects requiring a ground-up approach.

Main Responsibilities

Operation Support

• Lead the team by providing technical guidance and methodology regarding security practices.
• Interface and guide product managers, project managers (PMs), and architecture teams to align with corporate priorities.
• Ensure solutions align with business expectations and CN’s vision.
• Contribute to process improvement and elaboration.
• Contribute to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Root Cause Analyses (RCA).
• Participate in collecting, assessing, and cataloging threat indicators.

Practice Evolution

• Enable the Continuous Service Improvement lifecycle (e.g., reporting, regular governance interactions, Cloud Security Management Lifecycle).
• Oversee process improvements and drive new capabilities to enhance defense and response of CN cloud systems and networks.
• Develop and apply high standards to minimize operational impact and reduce total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
• Provide security risk analysis and strategic recommendations for improving the security posture of networks, systems, and services.
• Create security documentation and presentations for company leadership.
• Act as liaison between departments, providing guidance.
• Provide targeted training and workshops regularly.

Delivery

• Oversee development of new cloud security operations literature for CN security teams.
• Maintain knowledge of the threat landscape.
• Implement testing methodologies using industry-leading tactics and techniques.
• Adapt security approaches to address enterprise challenges.

Working Conditions

The role involves standard office conditions with a regular Monday to Friday schedule. The incumbent must meet deadlines, handle pressure, and travel minimally (about 5% across North America as per CN policy).

Requirements

Experience

• 7-10 years in network security industry experience.
• At least 5 years in technical leadership and overseeing deliverables.

Education/Certifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience (preferred).
• Certifications such as GCFA, GCED, CISSP, GCIH, CISM, GEVA, CRISC, Cloud Security Certifications, ITIL (asset).

Competencies

• Critical thinking, industry awareness, collaboration, impactful communication, solution orientation, safety and security leadership.

Technical Skills/Knowledge

• Expertise in cloud platforms, security frameworks, IAM, firewalls, zero trust, APIs, DevOps security, scripting, network protocols, and security concepts.
