Job description

Canadians are increasingly interested in wellness and general health. With this in mind, we are updating our life and health insurance strategy so we can better meet the changing needs of our members and clients. As an expert health strategy advisor in life and health insurance, you play a leadership role in your field as you lead and influence very large-scale projects and initiatives across Desjardins and the insurance market. You act as a liaison between the different stakeholders so you can understand their needs and the challenges they face. You are the business manager and representative for your line of work on specific initiatives requiring cutting-edge expertise in a complex field of knowledge. The projects and initiatives under your responsibility are strategic, cross-functional and highly innovative in nature. Their high degree of operational and conceptual complexity requires analytical skills and a comprehensive, in-depth understanding of your line of work and of the organization. A strategic mindset and organizational savvy will therefore be essential. Coordination is critical. You interact with a very large number of stakeholders working in a wide range of fields. You serve as an expert advisor and subject matter expert in your field for senior management and decision-making bodies. You represent and negotiate on behalf of Desjardins and enter the organization into agreements with external partners.. More specifically, you will be required to:

  • Become the go-to person for health innovation in life and health insurance.

  • Develop and implement an overall health strategy for the life and health insurer that meets clients’ complex business needs while honouring Desjardins’s commitments and acting in accordance with Desjardins’s priorities.

  • Identify partnership and investment opportunities with healthtech businesses and other companies.

  • Ensure the strategy’s profitability and execution in collaboration with multiple Desjardins stakeholders.

  • Monitor the performance and continuous improvement of health solutions and ensure alignment between the multiple stakeholders involved in Desjardins’s health ecosystem, including information security, compliance, legal and finance.

  • Develop implementation oversight mechanisms for innovative solutions you design.

What you bring to the table
