Job summary

Desjardins Group is seeking an expert due diligence advisor to evaluate investments, build robust financial models, and translate findings into actionable recommendations. You will assess forecasts, review the finance function, and support post-investment follow-ups with clear reporting.

Locked to Desjardins Capital, this role requires eight years of experience, a finance/accounting degree, and fluency in French with strong English skills.

Qualifications

As a fund manager, Desjardins Capital works with investors to create entrepreneurial wealth and build collective prosperity. As an expert due diligence advisor, you’ll play a key role in evaluating new investments and reinvestments in growth companies from various sectors. Through your financial analyses and modelling, you’ll help inform investment decisions, identify value creation drivers and help companies grow. Your in-depth understanding of their performance and financial operations will help you formulate concrete findings and recommendations and then remain involved in conducting post-transaction follow-ups to help implement priority improvements. More specifically, you will be required to: Secure decision-making by making sure that the financial information analyzed is accurate, relevant and complete. Identify a procedure and methodology that’s adapted to the specifics of each file and to the investment amount and then assess the operations and controls of the company under review Develop robust financial models to assess the performance, outlook and key value drivers of companies Analyze historical and interim results, as well as the financial situation of companies. Assess whether their financial forecasts are realistic, test and adjust them as needed to support an informed investment decision Assess the capacity and practices of the company’s financial team, and then present clear findings that are useful for decision-making. Depending on the importance of the file, recommend concrete measures for focus areas, identify post-investment follow-up priorities and write the financial analysis section of the executive report Act as a consulting partner for businesses to improve the quality and presentation of their financial information and to update their accounting policies and practices. Develop and maintain a professional network in the field, keep up with changes and trends related to due diligence, and translate them into concrete improvements to current practices and policies. Share your knowledge with other employees to contribute to the development of collective expertise Incorporate artificial intelligence into analyses to improve their depth and effectiveness, and to enhance the value of our expertise.

What you bring to the table
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • A minimum of eight years of relevant experience
  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
  • Knowledge of French is required
  • Advanced proficiency of English, both oral and written due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
