Job description

Seeking Experienced Web Designer (UX & Journey Focused)

We are seeking a highly skilled, mid-to-senior-level Web Designer to craft stunning, high-conversion websites and supporting branding elements that deliver exceptional user experiences, thoughtful customer journeys, and cohesive brand identities. Prefer someone who can create beautiful, intuitive designs with strong visual storytelling and premium branding (including logos) with a level of quality and versatility at an accessible rate.

You will primarily take client-approved copy and transform it into modern, user-centric web designs with seamless flow and emotional impact. For select clients, you’ll also develop logos, visual identities, and branding assets to ensure everything feels unified and professional. We build sites on WordPress with Elementor, so experience designing for that handoff is a plus (our developers handle implementation; you own the creative vision).

This is a freelance/contract role with potential for ongoing work. We’re looking for a true expert: confident, creative, and capable of delivering “wow” results independently across web and branding.

Hours: 20+ per week

Hourly rate: $28-$40 (depending on experience)

What Does a Web Designer do?
  • Turn provided (client-approved) copy into wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and full visual web designs with intuitive user journeys, strong hierarchy, and conversion focus.
  • Design seamless, engaging customer experiences that guide visitors emotionally and logically, from hero to CTA, prioritizing usability, accessibility, and impact.
  • For applicable client projects, create custom logos, brand identities, visual systems, style guides, and supporting assets (e.g., color palettes, typography, icons) that align with the website design and brand goals.
  • Produce modern, polished aesthetics with premium feel: clean typography, strategic whitespace, compelling visuals, responsive layouts, and responsive modern vibes that look incredible on all devices.
  • Ensure user-centered principles throughout: accessibility, smooth interactions, meaningful experiences, and cohesive branding across digital touchpoints.
  • Deliver design files ready for development (e.g., Figma with components, annotations, UX flows, and branding guidelines).
  • Iterate efficiently on feedback while upholding top-tier quality and creativity.
  • Provide occasional guidance on how designs (including branding elements) translate best to WordPress/Elementor.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of professional experience in web/UI/UX design, with a strong portfolio showcasing exceptional user journeys, conversion-driven websites, and logo/branding work (e.g., full identity systems, custom logos integrated with site designs).
  • Proven ability to elevate client-approved copy into high-impact, strategic designs that tell a brand’s story visually and experientially.
  • Expert in design tools like Figma (strongly preferred) and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Deep expertise in UX best practices, information architecture, accessibility, user flows, responsive design, color theory, typography, and branding fundamentals.
  • Strong aesthetic sensibility for creating emotional, premium connections through design—think strategic yet modern and visually striking.
  • Ability to work autonomously: deliver polished, client-ready work with minimal direction—just share copy, goals, brand references, and any existing assets.
  • Portfolio must highlight relevant projects: B2B/B2C sites, service-based businesses, SaaS/landing pages, plus examples of logos, rebrands, or visual identities tied to web work.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience designing for WordPress/Elementor (build-friendly layouts and components).
  • Knowledge of branding strategy, motion basics, design systems, or WCAG accessibility.
  • Previous freelance/agency experience delivering premium, results-oriented creative on schedule.
What We Offer
  • Flexible, remote freelance/contract work with competitive project-based or hourly rates (based on experience and portfolio strength).
  • Chance to lead creative direction on exciting client projects, including full branding when needed.
  • Potential for long-term collaboration with the right versatile talent.
