Job description

Project Based, Full Time

Responsibilities:

1. Translates storyboards, sketches, and verbal instructions into a 3D sequence of shots.
2. Determines camera composition, angles, and movement.
3. Establishes set and background geometry.
4. Creates basic blocking for all characters and props, along with temp elements such as lighting, crowds, and effects.
5. Creates sequences of shots that convey the storyline, ensuring the vision of the Director and Layout Supervisor are resolved.
6. May create rough pre-visualization models, environments, and effects to facilitate animation.
7. Accountable for meeting schedules and show deadlines, participates in dailies, rounds, and team reviews of work in progress.
8. Interacts with clients, production, supervisors, and team/peers to problem-solve and share information related to show/assigned tasks.
9. Deciphers and follows through on shot turnovers, dailies, briefings/notes, and feedback, providing innovative solutions that elevate the creative direction.
10. Works efficiently as part of a team or independently to determine various design solutions.

Qualifications:

1. Able to create layout solutions for multiple types of stories and actions.
2. Knowledge of applicable software packages including Unreal Engine 5.x is desired, with Maya knowledge required.
3. Experience with motion capture and virtual camera technologies is a plus.
4. Strong knowledge of camera composition, lenses, and cinematographic principles is essential.
5. High attention to detail and good organizational skills.
6. Ability to solve problems within a production pipeline.
7. Minimum requirement of 3+ years production experience or feature film experience preferred.

Salary: The anticipated base salary for a Senior position is $41.20 to $59.16/hr. Actual base salary will depend on various factors, including qualifications, years of relevant experience, education level, certifications, and location.
