Experienced Credentialed (RVT) Surgery Technician

Join VCA Animal Hospitals as an Experienced Credentialed (RVT) Surgery Technician.

We are seeking a skilled technician to join our expanding, fast-paced Surgery Department at VCA California Veterinary Specialists in Ontario, the largest 24-hour Emergency and Specialty hospital in the Inland Empire. Position Summary: We need a highly experienced surgery technician familiar with critical anesthetic cases such as septic abdomens and thoracotomies. Candidates should have prior experience in a specialty surgery or critical care environment, managing complex anesthetic cases. The schedule is 4 days per week, 10 hours per day.

Essential Job Functions: Monitoring anesthesia (blood pressure, CO2, SpO2, invasive blood pressure, ventilator management), calculating and administering CRIs, performing radiographs, preparing for soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries, drawing blood, placing IV catheters, sedation, intubation, and other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands and Skills: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 40 lbs, and work under pressure. Knowledge of advanced anesthetic procedures, ventilator setup, and basic anesthetic physiology. Must be a team player with professional communication skills, punctuality, reliability, and flexibility. A high school diploma is required; RVT certification is mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits: $26-32/hour, higher for VTS. Includes a signing bonus of $1000 (paid after 120 days), medical/dental/vision insurance, paid time off, 401(k), pet discounts, and more.
