Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a crew to execute flatwork and wall work projects, ensuring quality and efficiency.
- Coordinate the preparation and pouring of concrete for flat surfaces such as slabs, sidewalks, and driveways, ensuring proper thickness and finish.
- Supervise the construction and installation of concrete walls, including foundation walls, retaining walls, and decorative walls, ensuring structural integrity.
- Oversee the layout and forming of concrete structures, ensuring all work aligns with project specifications and design plans.
- Monitor the curing process to guarantee optimal strength and durability of the concrete.
- Inspect work for compliance with safety and quality standards, addressing any deficiencies immediately.
- Train and mentor crew members on proper techniques for flatwork and wall work, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Maintain equipment and ensure all tools are in good working condition.
- Collaborate with other trades and project managers to coordinate tasks and schedules effectively.
- Complete additional tasks as needed while adhering to our Safety Program.
What We’re Looking For:
- At least 5 years of experience in concrete walls and flat work with some supervisory roles.
- Strong knowledge of construction and concrete practices and safety regulations.
- The ability to read blueprints and project specifications with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a focus on motivating teams.
- Problem-solving skills to tackle on-site challenges effectively.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday with the potential for overtime.
- Availability for weekend work.
Work Location:
Primarily based in the Waterloo Region with some travel across Southern Ontario.
