Job description

We currently have some exciting roles for Experienced Commercial Claims Adjusters for our Customer Response - Property team.

Aviva recognizes the importance of being flexible and the benefits of being together; this role will be hybrid – the best of both worlds.

You will be responsible for claim settlement of predominantly commercial property claims (80% commercial | 20% personal lines) via telephone with a key focus on quality and customer service. The successful candidate will work with premiere property vendors to quantify the claim and apply cost-saving guidelines in the quantification of loss and expense without compromising the delivery of superior customer service.

What you’ll do :

  • Support our claims customer demand through a phone and text line environment.
  • Investigate and negotiate various Commercial Property Claims in accordance with Aviva's claim procedures and guidelines.
  • Confirm coverage and compile FNOL information for incoming claims.
  • Provide in-depth commercial claims guidance / advice to customers, peers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure data accuracy and the issuance of payments to vendors, insureds, and experts.
  • Review and compile facts, policy, and technical reports, analyze estimates, value of claims, and negotiate / settle claims accordingly.
  • Advise and counsel customers on claim status, providing prompt and exemplary customer service while keeping related parties informed of the claims status.
  • Complete all correspondence in a time-efficient / effective manner including the creation of Critical Path, Proof of Loss, and reservation of rights letters.
  • Recognize questionable claims, subrogation, and risk opportunities.
  • Meet Property team performance expectations set individually and contribute to team success.
  • Adhere to and support policies surrounding attendance.

What you’ll bring :

  • 5+ years of property claims experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience handling first-party commercial claims including but not limited to building owner / tenant, business income, stock, cargo, builder's risk, crime, and equipment claims for a wide variety of industries.
  • CIP or FCIP and other industry designations preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to support customer demand.
  • High level of comfort dealing directly with key commercial clients and brokers on all claim-related issues.
  • High level of prioritization and organization skills.
  • Critical thinking skills and coordination with all stakeholders to ensure the best outcomes.
  • Hardworking and self-motivated problem-solver.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Licenses for claims adjusting in any provinces (not a requirement but a big asset).
  • Assist and support during high volume catastrophes as needed (Evenings and Weekends).

Must be able to work rotating shifts during the hours of 7 : 00 AM to 8 : 00 PM Monday to Friday, and have flexibility to work some Saturdays only if needed.
