Qualifications

• Three years of hands-on commercial carpentry experience.
• Ability to read construction drawings.
• Journeyman Carpenter or Red Seal certification is an asset.
• Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation.
• Legally entitled to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Perform commercial concrete formwork, foundation and general carpentry work.
• Assist with layout, forming, framing and related self-performed scopes.
• Read and interpret drawings and site instructions.
• Complete assigned work accurately and productively.
• Coordinate with site leadership and other members of the field team.
• Maintain strong safety, workmanship and housekeeping standards.
• Identify material, layout or constructability concerns early.
• Support apprentices and labourers when required.

Atkinson Construction is hiring experienced Commercial Carpenters, including Red Seal and Journeyman certified tradespeople, for work in Edmonton, St. Albert and the surrounding area.

We are expanding our self-perform field team and are looking for productive carpenters with hands-on commercial experience in concrete formwork, foundations, framing, layout and general carpentry. This position is suited to someone who wants stable local employment, varied construction experience and the opportunity to take on more responsibility as the company grows.

• Strong attendance, reliability and communication

Experienced non-ticketed carpenters and senior apprentices may be considered where their commercial experience demonstrates that they can contribute productively.
