Job description

Falcon Contracting Ltd. is a locally owned and operated group of companies based in Prince George, BC. We are a diverse organization specializing in civil construction and turn-key camp catering.

We are seeking Carpenters (Red Seal and non-Certified) for current and upcoming projects for full and part-time employment both locally and out of town. Qualified carpenters are to have skills in framing, concrete work, and to perform various other construction tasks.

Location: Prince George

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience
  • Knowledge and experience in both civil construction and residential projects
  • Journeyman Carpenter Certificate from a recognized provincial training authority is not required but will be considered an asset
  • Must have framing & concrete formwork experience
  • Able to accurately read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, and understand verbal instructions
  • Practical knowledge and application of workplace safety, safe lifting and handling procedures, and proper tool usage
  • Be self-motivated, reliable, flexible, and proactive with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Supply own trade tools
  • Ability to carry up to 50lbs
  • Team player and safety oriented
  • Valid driver's license & reliable transportation
  • Working in all weather conditions
  • Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
  • Time management skills
  • Receptive to change - can adapt to changing circumstances
  • Able to work long hours and Saturdays if needed with potential out of town work opportunities

Responsibilities

  • Build, layout and execute build as required, according to specifications with the ability to make calculations depending on grade
  • Fit and install material items such as doors, stairs, drywall, exterior siding, and both interior and exterior finishings on buildings and modules
  • Proficient in using an array of specialized power tools, machines, and hand tools
  • Read and interpret blueprints and drawings
  • Planning timelines and meeting deadlines
  • Knowledge of safe operation and maintenance of carpentry tools
  • Complete other duties as assigned
