Job summary

Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited in Edmonton invites you to join as a Part-Time Dealer at Starlight Casino. You will conduct game play, engage guests, and help maintain the pace and security of the table, with training provided to newcomers.

This role supports a friendly, energetic environment across Canada’s gaming properties, offering development opportunities, benefits, and flexible evening/weekend hours.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months of professional Card Dealer experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail.
  • Sound knowledge of gaming policies and procedures.
  • Serving It Right (BC)/ Proserve (Alberta)/ Smart Serve (Ontario) certification.
  • Strong arithmetic abilities for quick calculations and memory of number combinations.
  • Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented in duties.
  • Able to stand or sit for long periods and adapt to flexible hours.
  • Outgoing, friendly demeanor focused on guest service.

Responsibilities

  • Computes wins or losses and bet settlements.
  • Secures cards, chips and cash; authorizes and verifies transactions.
  • Maintains game pace and ensures game security.
  • Contacts Supervisor to resolve disputes and game irregularities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Computes wins or loses and bet settlements.
  • Secures cards, chips and cash; authorizes and verifies all transactions and concentrates on table activities.
  • Maintains appropriate game pace and proper game security.
  • Contacts Dealer Supervisor when necessary to resolve disputes and game irregularities.
What You Bring
  • Demonstrated success as a professional Card Dealer, with at least 6 months of experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Proven technical abilities and a sound knowledge of gaming policies and procedures.
  • Serving It Right (BC)/ Proserve (Alberta) certificate/ Smart Serve (Ontario).
  • Sharp math skills to add and multiply numbers quickly and memorize repeated numerical combinations.
  • Proven to be detail oriented, reliable, punctual, efficient and diligent in duties and responsibilities.
  • Strong manual dexterity to deal cards with fluidity and manipulate stacks of chips.
  • Ability to stand and/or sit for long periods of time as applicable.
  • Outgoing, friendly energy and know how to deliver extraordinary service.
  • Enjoy calculating numbers, memorizing combinations, and focusing on the details.
  • Take pride in every game you deal and are eager to learn and master new games.
  • Are a night owl who benefits from working flexible hours, evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to talk to guests about events and promotions and enjoy working in a flexible, cooperative environment.
