Job summary

Dexterra Group is seeking a skilled Baker to join our team in Canada. The successful candidate will prepare, bake, and present a variety of breads, pastries, desserts, and baked goods while upholding the highest standards of food quality and safety.

Responsibilities include measuring ingredients, operating baking equipment, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring inventory and waste control. Qualifications include prior baking experience in a bakery or similar setting, knowledge of baking

Qualifications

  • Previous baking experience in a bakery, food service, hotel, restaurant, or institutional setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
  • Ability to follow recipes and production schedules accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Food Safe Certification is considered an asset.
  • Superior communication skills in both verbal and written English.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and baking goods from scratch.
  • Prepare and bake breads, buns, pastries, cookies, cakes, and other baked products according to recipes and production schedules.
  • Measure and mix ingredients accurately to ensure product consistency.
  • Operate commercial baking equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor proofing, baking times, and temperatures to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Decorate and finish baked goods as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment.
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering baking ingredients and supplies.
  • Minimize waste and contribute to cost-control initiatives.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production and customer service goals
  • Restocking pastry shelves and maintaining a sufficient and fresh supply of baked goods
  • Creating and following menus to ensure quality of baked goods and desserts
  • Ensuring consistent quality standard in over-all food preparation as per clients’ requirements including consideration to special dietary constraints
  • Complying with food hygiene regulations in accordance with Food Safety Act
  • Cleaning, washing, and sanitizing equipment and over-all work areas

WHAT’S THE JOB?

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Baker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, baking, and presenting a variety of fresh breads, pastries, desserts, and baked goods while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Your Work Will Include
