Creates animated characters and objects that meet required direction. The artist must possess the ability to animate both primary and secondary characters by utilizing traditional methods and computer graphics systems to create the desired performance of digital characters within a shot. Emphasis should be placed on conveying emotion through a combination of body language and facial expressions/dialog as required by each specific project. Accountable for meeting schedules and show deadlines, participates in dailies, rounds, and team reviews of work in progress. Interacts with production, supervisors, and team/peers in order to problem solve and share information related to show/assigned tasks. Must be able to decipher as well as follow through on shot turnovers, dailies, briefings/notes, and feedback. Successful candidates should be able to work efficiently as part of a team or independently to determine various design solutions. Able to animate multiple types of shots from simple to moderately difficult.
Qualifications:
Possess a strong understanding of the principles of animation. Knowledge of applicable software packages including Maya required. Background or experience in fine art which shows a thorough understanding of physical motion, weight, balance, and form highly desired. Knowledge of human and animal anatomy as well as life drawing skills are desirable. Minimum requirement of 3+ years production experience or feature film experience preferred.
The anticipated base salary for a Senior position is $45.34 to $58.51/hr. Benefits are per company policy, which include healthcare, tuition reimbursement, RRSP's, Sick and Vacation leave, standard increases as applicable. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
Please note that you must be able to provide a demo reel that illustrates your relevant artistic and technical experience that also includes the nuances for this specific role.
