Job summary

City of St. Albert is recruiting an Exercise and Wellness Specialist to provide frontline customer service and fitness service delivery at the Fitness and Wellness Centre. You will supervise the fitness area, run orientations, and support member goal setting.

The casual, 5–20 hour per week position offers flexible shifts and wages between $22.08 and $26.88 per hour. Preference is given to candidates with an PE/Kinesiology degree or related certification, First Aid/CPR, and fitness certifications.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma and three years of experience is a minimum.
  • A degree or diploma in Physical Education, Kinesiology or a related field is preferred.
  • Direct experience in customer service or fitness facility environment is an asset.
  • CSEP-CPT, NSCA-CSCS or equivalent certifications are preferred.
  • AFLCA or equivalent group exercise certification would be an asset.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification is required, prior to hire.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and experience with a membership management database is an asset.

The City of St. Albert is recruiting an individual to join our Recreation and Parks department as a Exercise and Wellness Specialist. Reporting to the Floor Services Coordinator, this position will be responsible for providing exceptional front-line customer service and program/fitness service delivery to guests of the Fitness and Wellness Centre.

Hours of Work
  • Monday – Friday 5:15 a.m. – 9:45 p.m.
  • Saturday, Sunday and Holidays – 6:15 a.m. – 9:45 p.m.
Term
  • This is a casual position with 5-20 hours per week, depending on availability.
Compensation
  • The wage ranges from $22.08 – $26.88 per hour based on qualifications and experience.
