Job description

As a Sous Chef you will be responsible for maintaining, delivering and building upon existing
brand standards for our culinary program. With your previous restaurant experience, eye for consistency and attention to small details, you will help us to deliver picture perfect plates every time. If you like to cook, create and motivate teams to perform to their full potential, this role is for you! You are the ambassador of food quality, food safety and maintaining a safe and clean working environment for our teams and our guests.


Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Offer hands on management style with exceptional leadership skills
  2. Implement, lead and inspire team development at all levels
  3. Supervises line staff to consistently deliver brand standards
  4. Ensure daily operations function efficiently as possible to maximize a positive dining experience for guests always balanced with a strong return to the company
  5. Weekly food inventory with Optimum Control
  6. Design BOH labour schedules that are cost effective and achieve successful operational performance
  7. Ensure health and safety compliance in our kitchen
  8. Motivate teams to enhance retention and yield high job satisfaction
  9. Oversee culinary program in an effort to provide high quality ingredients and recipes that align with current market trends
  10. Where appropriate, follow up and successfully resolve all guest complaints and ensure root cause is identified and corrected
  11. Recipe creation for feature items
  12. Foster a culture of recognition and reward focused on the achievement of financial metrics, food quality and performance

Education/Qualification:
  1. Intermediate computer skills in MS Office (word, excel)
  2. Minimum 3 years experience leading teams in a commercial kitchen
  3. Able to demonstrate strong culinary skills, recipe development and team development
  4. Subject matter expert on HACCP, WHIMS, Human Rights and ESA regulations in your Province
  5. Health & Safety Management
  6. Ability to work on a flexible schedule, as business dictates; evenings, weekends and holidays.
  7. Food Safe Certificate.
