Executive Director – System of Quality Management

Overview

The System of Quality Management (SoQM) team is an integral part of KPMG’s Department of Professional Practice. SoQM is a priority initiative, critical in driving and improving audit quality. This includes:

  • Identifying and assessing risks within the firm and its processes
  • Working with stakeholders to develop solutions and design controls
  • Supporting effective implementation of processes and controls

The Executive Director SoQM leads various aspects of the program, collaborating with leaders and stakeholders across the firm, including the KPMG Global SoQM team. This highly visible role requires technical expertise, project management, team leadership, and problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on creativity and adaptability.

This is a 24-month contract opportunity.

What You Will Do

  • Develop understanding of the firm’s processes, policies, and controls
  • Provide leadership input on SoQM requirements and improvement areas
  • Build relationships with internal stakeholders and leadership
  • Develop strategic initiatives for SoQM implementation
  • Interpret professional standards related to SoQM, including ISQM1 and PCAOB QC1000
  • Apply KPMG’s Global SoQM methodology
  • Design processes, controls, and procedures with business owners
  • Support understanding and improvements of SoQM requirements
  • Develop and deliver training to stakeholders
  • Prepare reports on SoQM for internal and regulatory stakeholders
  • Proactively solve problems and communicate effectively across teams

What You Bring To The Role

  • CPA with at least 7 years of audit or relevant experience
  • Experience with internal controls (e.g., SoQM, SOX, ICFR)
  • Experience auditing listed entities
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to lead meetings, trainings, and discussions with senior audiences
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and visual communication
  • Experience managing large projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to support compliance and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Empathy and challenge in process design
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills
  • Proven client relationship skills

This position requires fluency in English, both written and oral.
