About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking an Executive Director, Senior Lead Credit Risk Officer for the Americas Chief Risk Office. This role is for a vacancy in our Toronto office.
In this role, you will:
Advise senior leadership to develop and implement strategies, programs and policies with a direct and significant impact on credit risk appetite
Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges to drive the company credit culture, appetite, and business performance requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or companywide
Deliver solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking, and coordination of highly complex activities and guidance to others
Monitor, assess and report on asset quality, portfolio trends and credit policy exception trends
Provide oversight of the credit quality for the Americas loan portfolio
Provide credit concurrence and participate in acquisition due diligence
Approve and provide credible challenge of line of business credit products, programs, and policies
Provide vision, direction and expertise to senior leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions
Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
Interact with internal and external customers
Collaborate with business for oversight of risk management
Interact with Audit, Legal, external agencies, and regulatory bodies on risk related topics
Manage regulatory reporting requirements
Required Qualifications:
7+ years of Credit Risk experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
Risk management experience in relevant risk classes experiences with an ability to quickly identify key risks
Strong experience in credit risk and other risk areas would be an asset
Experience in developing credit risk models to support the Lines of Business particularly within the Corporate and Investment Banking space
Experience in working for a global/multi-national bank within the Chief Risk Office
Experience in dealing with regulators
Ability to lead, work and influence successfully within a matrix, fast-paced environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of employees and stakeholders
Ability to provide credible challenge and candor to peers and business leaders
Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities
Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate issues, risks, and proposed solutions effectively and succinctly, in both written and verbal formats, with senior leaders
Proficient with advanced Word, PowerPoint, Excel and/or VBA.
Degree educated (or equivalent)
