REPRESENTING MORE THAN 47,000 MEMBERS, the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) is the professional organization responsible for establishing standards for the training, certification, and lifelong education of family physicians and for advocating on behalf of the specialty of family medicine, family physicians, and their patients. The CFPC accredits postgraduate family medicine training in Canada's 18 medical schools.

The CFPC is seeking an accomplished and entrepreneurial physician executive to join its Senior Advisory Team and provide executive leadership for a diversified portfolio that advances family medicine, supports physicians throughout their careers, enhances member value, and drives sustainable revenue growth.

Executive Director, Practice Solutions

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Executive Director, Practice Solutions provides executive leadership for a diversified portfolio of practice-support products, services, and educational offerings designed to advance family medicine and support physicians throughout their careers. The portfolio includes conferences, continuing professional development programs, clinical publications, practice guidelines, examination preparation resources, and other practice-focused solutions.

The Executive Director is accountable for both the strategic impact and financial performance of the portfolio, leading initiatives that support family physicians and residents while generating significant non-dues revenue for the organization. This role requires balancing member value, educational excellence, and business sustainability. The ideal candidate combines strong business and entrepreneurial acumen with a solid understanding of clinical practice, healthcare systems, and the evolving needs of family physicians.

The ideal candidate will be a Certified Family Physician (CCFP), complemented by a minimum of 10 years of progressive senior leadership experience, including significant responsibility for business development and people leadership. Formal education or professional development in business development is also required. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of family medicine and Canada's healthcare landscape, with exceptional relationship-building, communication, change leadership, and strategic planning capabilities. Bilingualism in English and French is preferred. The salary range for this position is $264,972.24 to $331,215.60. This role is based in Mississauga, and the successful candidate may have the ability to work remotely in accordance with the Organization's policies and procedures dealing with remote and/or hybrid work arrangements in effect from time-to-time. Our current hours of operation are Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm Eastern Time.

This is a new role for the organization with an expected appointment in fall 2026.
