As a member of the Public Safety Division management team, the Executive Director is responsible to lead and manage units within the division, provide advice and support to the Deputy Minister/Assistant Deputy Minister.
Manitoba Justice is looking for a strategic, collaborative and innovative Executive Director to lead the Public Safety Division, which includes policing services. This branch co-ordinates and administers the Manitoba government’s law enforcement objectives, priorities, programs and policies; government’s contracts with the RCMP, municipal and First Nations police services; and the licensing and regulation of the private investigator and security guard industry.
The successful candidate will lead the various units of the Public Safety Division through ongoing modernization and change while maintaining high standards of service delivery. To be considered for this competition you must submit an application form. See below for further instructions.
Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister, Public Safety Division, the Executive Director is responsible for all provincial law enforcement and public safety programs and policies administered or under development by Manitoba Justice. This position also holds responsibility for the administration and development of provincial and First Nations policing and public safety policy throughout the province; along with supervision, coordination and development of public safety policies and programs in Manitoba in response to community needs and interests.
