Job summary

BC Nurses’ Union (BCNU) seeks an Executive Director, Member Services to lead labour relations, health and safety, communications and professional practice support. The role shapes member services and negotiates complex bargaining strategies in collaboration with NBA and other tables.

The incumbent reports to the CEO, oversees budgeting and performance, and fosters a culture of excellence, equity and continuous improvement for BCNU’s 50,000+ members across British Columbia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in arts, law, industrial relations or nursing.
• Master’s level preferred in related discipline and/or law.
• An undergraduate degree with extensive labour relations/leadership experience may be considered as equivalency.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for BCNU’s member services portfolio including labour relations, health & safety, communications, and professional practice support.
• Attend or lead bargaining tables including NBA and other negotiations.
• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and resource stewardship within portfolio.
• Develop and implement policies to ensure efficient operation of services and programs.
