Position: Executive Director, Greater Halifax Area

Our client is a well-established organization dedicated to advocating for the interests of insurance brokers across the region. They strive to provide their members with the resources, support, and guidance necessary to excel in the ever-evolving insurance landscape. Their mission is to promote professionalism, innovation, and collaboration within the industry.

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Executive Director to lead the organization. Responsibilities include:

  1. Strategic planning, advocacy, member engagement, and operational management.
  2. Engaging volunteers, board members, committees, and partner organizations through events, meetings, and general assemblies.
  3. Coordinating multiple projects within tight timelines, including the Atlantic Insurance Brokers Convention.
  4. Advocating for insurance brokers at local, provincial, and national levels with industry and government.
  5. Ensuring performance reviews and tracking systems to monitor progress.
  6. Fostering a professional development culture through staff training and individual development plans.
  7. Managing and implementing contract requirements with the Insurance Brokers Association of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field; Master’s degree is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of the insurance landscape and regulatory environment is an asset.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Strategic and visionary thinking to adapt to industry changes and ensure a thriving broker community.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to industry and regulatory challenges; domestic travel required.
  • Ability to become licensed as an insurance broker, which requires a successful Criminal Records Check.
