Role responsibilities
  • Lead deployment of international emergency response teams and health services, including workforce planning, recruitment, training, and operational coordination.
  • Navigate complex emergency environments, health outbreaks, and trends, making high-stakes decisions with limited context.
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans, protocols, and strategies for rapid and effective operations.
  • Collaborate with donors, government agencies, NGOs, community organizations, and external partners for coordinated responses.
  • Manage budgets, ensuring financial accountability and resource optimization.
  • Support the Host NS in implementing emergency operations aligned with their plans and policies.
  • Manage workforce stress, conflict resolution, and personnel well-being during emergencies.
  • Develop relationships with community leaders, movement partners, and international stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 4-7 years of experience and a 3-year college diploma or university degree in health, emergency management, international studies, or related fields, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Fluency in English; French and/or Spanish is an asset.
  • Experience managing or coordinating health operations internationally, preferably with RC movement or similar agencies.
  • Supervisory or management experience with leadership and team management skills.
  • Experience working in complex, high-risk environments with security concerns.
  • Knowledge of emergency response protocols and movement systems.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel internationally on short notice.
Work conditions

Field deployments may involve working in unstable environments with limited access to basic services, requiring strict security adherence. The role includes fieldwork, deployments, and office work during non-deployment periods. Domestic or international travel to high-stress environments is expected.
