Job Ad: Executive Director - Lacrosse Nova ScotiaAbout the OrganizationLacrosse Nova Scotia (LNS) is a provincial sport association supported by Sport Nova Scotia (SNS) and is also a member association of Lacrosse Canada (LC). Our purpose is to promote, develop and administer the game of lacrosse in the province of Nova Scotia and to provide opportunities for advancement, pursuit of excellence, and lifelong participation in the sport.About the PositionReporting to the LNS Board of Directors, the President and the VP Administration (as Chair of the Human Resources Committee), the Executive Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations and will also take on a leadership role in supporting the Board with implementation of their strategic plan, ensuring the ongoing growth and quality of the lacrosse program in the province of Nova Scotia.ResponsibilitiesOperations and AdministrationManage the LNS office at Sport Nova Scotia, including responsibility for all day-to-day operations, financial affairs, and correspondence.Manage LNS staff including the Technical Director and other staff.Ensure that all invoices are paid by their due date.Maintain a financial statement and balance sheet that can be used to assist the VP of Finance when generating yearly financial reports.Administer the collection of membership fees.Work with clubs and program groups within Nova Scotia to gather player registration information and to gather volunteer information.Be familiar with LC calendar and dates, policies and procedures to ensure that LNS meets the requirements and due dates.Strategy and PartnershipsCreate a working relationship with lacrosse leagues, clubs and programs to share LNS information and resources.Provide support to lacrosse clubs so that these LNS members can access the organizational information that they need on a yearly basis to be successful. This includes providing information and support for all grant opportunities that can be accessed through SNS and the LC.Attend LC events and be the point of contact, outside the LNS President, with the LC and LNS and their members.Supporting the BoardProduce monthly board meeting reports and year-end AGM reports.Assist LNS in policy development and implementation.Be directly involved with the organization of any LNS special events, particularly fundraising events.FundingSource any potential funding or sponsorship opportunities that would support organizational programming for LNS.Develop and submit all funding applications, proposals and reports.Professional DevelopmentAttend any professional development (PD) meetings held by SNS.Attend PD sessions where budgets allow.TravelTravel will be required to carry out job functions, so the Executive Director must have access to a personal vehicle.What We Have to OfferSalary: $50,000Vacation: Flexible based on experienceWeek between Christmas and New Year's off (and paid)Hybrid work / Flexible working hoursSick/Personal Time: Full-time employees are provided with a total of 12 sick days per year.Health/Dental/Vision benefitsPersonal Development up to $1,500 per yearLaptop/software/mobile phone stipendQualificationsBachelor's degree in sports management preferred, business administration, or a related field.Experience in a leadership role in a sport organization.Knowledge of the sport of lacrosse is preferred.Financial management skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Ability to travel.To ApplyPlease send your resume and cover letter to vpadmin@lacrossens.ca no later than 11:59 pm on August 30th, 2025.
