Job summary

KFNE, Port Coquitlam, BC, is seeking a Director of Economic Development to translate the Nation’s vision into an executable strategy and operating plan. You will steer land development, commercial leasing, partnerships, and governance while building a lean yet capable team.

Reporting to the KFNE Board of Directors, you will secure services for existing properties and plan future development, balancing commercial and community objectives in a complex regulatory landscape.

Qualifications

• The Director will have a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 8–10+ years of leadership in public-private partnerships or urban development.
• Experience working with multiple levels of government, First Nations, engineers, regulators and stakeholders is essential.
• Strong financial literacy, including capital budgeting and pro forma analysis, is required.
• Experience negotiating complex commercial arrangements and managing multidisciplinary projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute KFNE’s economic-development and business strategy.
• Lead land development, land-leasing and development-planning priorities.
• Identify revenue opportunities and build strategic partnerships.
• Oversee financial performance, governance and board reporting.
• Build the Economic Development function and organizational capability.
• Represent KFNE in external negotiations with governments, developers and investors.
