About the Opportunity

The Executive Director, Development, will work with the Associate Vice President to develop and implement a Major Gifts program in the Fraser Region. This includes managing a portfolio of major gift prospects, leading regional fundraising strategies, and overseeing a team of fundraisers. The role involves collaboration with various internal teams and external partners to maximize fundraising efforts.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of major gift prospects, cultivating and soliciting transformational gifts.
  • Lead strategic planning for the Fraser Region’s major gifts initiatives.
  • Develop plans for donor identification, cultivation, and solicitation.
  • Expand donor base and revenue in the region.
  • Lead and manage the regional Major Gifts team.
  • Oversee regional budget planning and management.
  • Motivate and lead staff and volunteers within the region.
  • Build strong relationships with BC Cancer teams and scientists.
  • Collaborate on campaign management and execution.
  • Coordinate with marketing and prospect research teams.
  • Represent the Foundation at official functions as needed.
Qualifications
  • Proven ability to lead major gifts programs and teams, securing significant gifts.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in fundraising or related fields.

  • Developing and managing comprehensive development programs.
  • Strong knowledge of major gift fundraising strategies.
  • Leadership and team motivation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and strategically.
  • Knowledge of fundraising software, preferably Raiser’s Edge.

Additional requirements include a valid BC Driver's license and own transportation.
