Position Overview:

Forum is seeking an experienced Executive Director, Alternative Assets (Sales) – Southwestern Ontario, to lead business development and advisor relationship management within the wealth management channel, including CIRO advisors, portfolio managers, and discretionary teams. This is a hybrid role based in Southwestern Ontario, with a combination of in-office collaboration and frequent travel across the Greater Toronto and Golden Horseshoe regions.

Reporting to theManaging Director, Alternative Assets, the Executive Director will be responsible for growing Forum’s market share across this key territory by driving sales of our alternative investment solutions. The successful candidate will lead all aspects of regional sales coverage – from strategic planning, advisor segmentation, and business development to education, product positioning, and relationship stewardship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Net Sales: Achieve annual sales targets by identifying new business opportunities and expanding relationships with wealth advisors across CIRO (bank and independent) platforms.
  • Territory Ownership: Design and execute a comprehensive territory plan to deepen advisor engagement and broaden product exposure in Southwestern Ontario.
  • Advisor Engagement: Lead one-on-one meetings, branch sessions, and virtual or in-person presentations to educate and influence key advisors.
  • Channel Development: Cultivate strong relationships with dealer home offices, product teams, branch managers, and due diligence personnel.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Forum’s internal wholesaling, marketing, operations, and product development teams to deliver seamless advisor support.
  • Leadership & Coaching: Contribute to the national sales team’s growth by mentoring junior associates and participating in internal leadership initiatives.
  • Sales Intelligence: Use CRM systems, pipeline data, and campaign results to inform decision-making and maximize advisor coverage and efficiency.
  • Reporting & Market Feedback: Provide timely updates, performance insights, and advisor feedback to the senior leadership and product teams.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 5 years of successful investment sales experience, with a focus on alternative strategies and the Canadian wealth management landscape.
  • Established relationships with CIRO advisors and discretionary teams in Southwestern Ontario.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
  • Deep understanding of advisor motivations, client needs, and portfolio construction considerations.
  • Skilled in consultative selling with a long-term, relationship-first mindset.
  • Experience with Salesforce (or other CRM platforms) and best practices in territory management.
  • Entrepreneurial and self-motivated, with the ability to thrive in a high-growth, high-performance environment.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; CSC mandatory. CFA, CIM, or MBA is an asset.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel frequently throughout the Golden Horseshoe and surrounding areas.
