Job description

Executive Director

The Executive Director will be responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership to the organization, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, community-centred care while maintaining strong governance, financial sustainability, and organizational stability. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will guide the organization through a period of leadership transition, strengthen internal alignment and staff engagement, and advance a clear and forward-looking strategic direction. The role requires navigating complexity, balancing equity and inclusion priorities with funding constraints, compliance obligations, and system accountability, while building trust across staff, Board, and community stakeholders.

The expected salary for this position is approximately $185,000 CAD per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This posting reflects a position that is currently occupied, with the incumbent continuing in the role until a successor is appointed.

Qualifications
  • Senior leadership experience within community health, social services, healthcare, or a similarly complex public or not-for-profit environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead organizations through periods of transition, including strengthening organizational stability, alignment, and staff engagement.
  • Experience working effectively with Boards, including supporting governance development, building alignment, and navigating evolving Board dynamics.
  • A strong track record of working with diverse, equity-deserving communities, with the ability to embed equity, access, and inclusion into decision‑making and organizational practice.
  • Experience managing within a publicly funded, resource‑constrained environment, including financial stewardship, risk management, and accountability frameworks.
