SAISIA seeks an Executive Director to guide the organization with a focus on immigrants and newcomers in Saskatchewan. The role involves strategic planning, financial sustainability, and advocating for policies that improve the lives of newcomers. Ideal candidates will have a graduate degree and significant leadership experience.
The Saskatchewan Association of Immigrant Settlement and Integration Agencies (SAISIA) is an umbrella
organization of immigrant and newcomer serving agencies across Saskatchewan. Its mandate is to provide an association by and through which its members can work towards addressing the needs of immigrants and newcomers, the agencies that serve them, and the larger community which welcomes them. SAISIA’s vision is to be the leading voice for settlement and integration in Saskatchewan.
PURPOSE
SAISIA is seeking an Executive Director (ED) to lead the organization and build a high-performing, healthy
organizational culture. The ED ensures the development and implementation of SAISIA’s strategic plan and policies, guides the development and financial sustainability of the organization, supports the Board of Directors, and provides strong operational leadership. Responsibilities include oversight of business planning, financial management, grant writing, facilities, technology, human resource management, marketing and communications, sector consultations, member and stakeholder engagement, participation in prairie region and national collaborations/committees, and educational programming. The ED oversees services to member agencies and stakeholders, member relations, and manages SAISIA staff and
resources. The ED will work independently and with partners, employees, members, and the board of directors to advocate for policies and programs that strengthen the newcomer-serving sector’s capacity to respond to the needs of newcomers to Canada.
NATURE OF THE WORK
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED will work closely and collaboratively with government funding
agencies, primarily Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), member agencies, and other
stakeholders that serve newcomers. The annual operating budget is $650,000 with five other staff who report to the ED. The work is deadline-driven, client-driven, service-oriented and requires ongoing research to ensure that Saskatchewan’s settlement sector is achieving the outcome of improving the lives of newcomers to Canada. Special projects are common, such as organizing and facilitating consultation events or helping to ensure a coordinated province-wide approach to emerging challenges such as mass migration.
