A local business organization in Saint George, New Brunswick is seeking a part-time leader to drive programs and services for its members. This role involves public speaking, event planning, and managing relationships within the community. Ideal candidates should have strong organizational and advocacy skills, with experience in strategic planning and management. This position offers 20-30 hours of work per week, requiring flexibility in hours, including evenings and weekends.
Position Overview:
Reporting to a Board of Directors, the successful candidate will be responsible for the leadership and development of the Chamber, the provision of programs and services for the Chamber’s members and will act as the Chamber’s key public spokesperson. · Profound knowledge of small businesses and the region of Eastern Charlotte.
· Competencies in Microsoft Suite, Social Media applications and Canva.
· Experience in public advocacy and government relations.
· Demonstrated experience with strategic planning.
· Management experience.
· Financial experience.
· Organizational skills.
· Strong skills in customer/member relations.
· Facilitation skills.
· Familiarity with non-profit organization and/or association operations.
Formal training/post-secondary education related to communications, public relations, ETC., is considered an asset but not a requirement. Equivalent experience will be considered.
This position will require travel throughout the region of Eastern Charlotte, and occasionally, provincial travel (reimbursable) may occur. This position is for 20-28 hours/week. Due the nature of the job, it is expected that you will work varying hours (evenings and weekends as well). This is a remote position; however, an office location should be expected within the first year.
