Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation is seeking an experienced and strategic Executive Director to provide senior leadership and overall management of PBCN's programs, services, departments, administration, and Executive Services. Reporting to Chief and Council, the Executive Director will ensure effective service delivery, sound financial management, accountability, policy compliance, and achievement of organizational priorities. The Executive Director reports to the Chief and Council and the position is located in Prince Albert, Sask.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide strategic leadership and overall direction to PBCN programs, departments, administration, and Executive Services, ensuring organizational priorities and Chief and Council directives are achieved, and ensuring effective management, staff performance and program goals are achieved.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with Chief and Council, Membership, employees, Federal and Provincial governments, funding agencies, First Nations organizations, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor program and service performance to ensure effective delivery, achievement of objectives, and compliance with approved budgets and funding requirements.
- Support negotiations, committees, boards, organizational initiatives, and community reporting as directed by Chief and Council.
- Support key organizational initiatives across Public Works and Capital, Education, Social Development, and other PBCN programs and services
- Lead organizational planning and development through strategic plans, policies, procedures, protocols, operational systems, and best practices that strengthen accountability and service delivery.
- Oversee financial management and accountability, including budgets, expenditures, financial controls, funding, financial reporting, and responsible use of PBCN resources.
- Ensure organizational compliance with PBCN policies, financial requirements, personnel standards, confidentiality, reporting obligations, and health and safety regulations.
- Provide regular reports, recommendations, and presentations to Chief and Council on organizational operations, financial performance, programs, services, and emerging issues.
- Oversee funding and reporting requirements, ensuring accurate, timely, complete, and consolidated submissions to funding agencies.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration with committees, boards, departments, programs, and community Membership.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Preferred: Master's degree from an accredited post-secondary institution in Business Administration, Commerce, Management, Accounting, or Finance, with a minimum of three (3) years of senior management experience. Minimum: Bachelor's degree in one of the above-mentioned areas with five (5) years of relevant experience.

- Ability to work effectively with leadership, employees, Membership, government agencies, and external partners.
- Strong understanding of confidentiality, accountability, internal controls, and organizational compliance.
