Job description

The VOBOC Foundation is a not-for-profit organization with offices in Pointe-Claire, Quebec. VOBOC works with oncology teams across Montreal-area hospitals to help equip, engage and empower adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with cancer to improve their experiences and health outcomes.

A passionate and strategic leader, the Executive Director is primarily responsible for securing sustainable funding to enable our ability to support more and more AYA patients.

Key Responsibilities of the Executive Director:

Fundraising Strategy & Donor Relations

·Develop and execute an annual fundraising plan that supports growth and sustainability.

·Lead revenue-generating initiatives including major gifts, corporate sponsorships, grants, peer-to-peer fundraising, and signature events.

·Create and manage a strategy that deepens engagement and donor loyalty through meaningful touchpoints and impact reports.

·Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective donors, with a focus on cultivating relationships aligned with our mission to serve AYAs affected by cancer.

Grants & Corporate Giving

·Research and write compelling grant proposals and reports to foundations and government entities.

·Develop customized pitches and sponsorship packages for corporate partners and potential partners.

·Ensure compliance with grant requirements and manage reporting deadlines.

·Ensure that the mission, values and work of VOBOC is communicated and marketed routinely.

Team & Operations

·Oversee day to day operations of a small team including patient liaison and program coordination.

·Monitor our programs with a view to continually improving our effectiveness in adding value in the lives of AYA’s facing a cancer journey.

·Lead through participation in program execution, event planning and volunteer coordination.

·Prepare reports for the Board of Directors, and funders as needed.

Executive Director Requirements

·University-level education in health or social sciences, administration, marketing, finance, management or any other related field.

·A minimum of ten (10-15) years of experience in a leadership position, ideally in non-profit.

·Experience in the cancer or health care sector, an asset.

·Seasoned speaker and presenter in both languages.

·Experience in dealing with senior stakeholders and outside organizations.

·Available to work flexible hours to meet work demands as required including attending meetings or events outside of normal working hours.Frequent travel locally outside of office, as required.
