Overview

St. Peter’s Seminary Foundation is a charitable organization committed to raising funds to support the mission of St. Peter’s Seminary, a Catholic institution of higher education founded in 1912, responsible for the education and formation of Catholic clergy and lay leaders in Canada.

Through comprehensive theological education and formation, St. Peter’s Seminary prepares future priests, deacons, lay ministers, educators and spiritual leaders who strengthen the Church and transform lives through faith-based service. St. Peter’s Seminary Foundation provides financial support for students, programs, and facilities, preserving the Seminary’s heritage and ensuring its long-term sustainability.

Position

The Executive Director (ED) reports to the Board of Directors and serves as the Foundation’s chief executive officer. This role provides operational excellence and strategic direction, overseeing fundraising, strategic planning, donor relations, and operational management. The ED collaborates with the Board of Directors, Seminary leadership, donors, and partners to promote the Foundation’s mission and secure resources to support St. Peter’s Seminary.

Responsibilities
  • Personally manage an active portfolio of key donor and prospective donor relationships, focusing on securing principal, major and legacy gifts by cultivating meaningful relationships and tailored engagement strategies.
  • Oversee fundraising, strategic planning, donor relations, and operational management; work with the Board, Seminary leadership, and supporters to advance the Foundation’s mission.
Qualifications
  • Accomplished and mission-driven leader with extensive executive experience in nonprofit or faith-based organizations.
  • Visionary and results-oriented strategist with proven success guiding organizations through transitions and change, ensuring strong operational and financial management.
  • Expertise in strategic planning, fundraising, donor relations, and stakeholder engagement; ability to develop and execute ambitious strategies that drive measurable impact.
  • Experience building and leading high-performing teams; mentoring staff and fostering collaboration.
  • Collaborative and inclusive leadership, with ability to work with boards, volunteers, faculty, alumni, and donors to align with mission and values.
  • Strong fundraising and communication skills; track record of securing major gifts and leading capital campaigns; comfortable using analytics and tools to track progress.
  • Deep understanding of the Catholic Church’s philanthropic culture and a demonstrated commitment to service and sustainability.
