Job description

Position Title: Executive Director of Service Delivery
Status: Excluded, Permanent, Full-Time
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Pay Grid: $140,000 - $155,000

Active Care Youth and Adult Services (ACYAS) is a progressive, innovative organization operating residential resources for youth, and adults in British Columbia. It is our mandate to provide innovative, trauma-informed support services of exceptional quality and to do so in the context of a home environment.

Position with ACYAS encompasses the responsibility of transporting the person served to appointments, activities, or other crucial commitments. Due to this core duty, a valid class 5 British Columbia driver's license is a requirement of employment for this position.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Executive Director (ED) of Service Delivery will be responsible for the management and operations of ACYAS programs in accordance with its Mission, Values, Vision, Strategic Plan, and operating standards. The ED will develop collaborative and strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and manage organizational change by taking responsibility for the organization’s program performance. In collaboration with ACYAS’s executive team, the ED will provide direct oversight to the development and implementation of ACYAS’s strategic plan, in addition developing and implementing innovative ideas to continuously improve internal operations and programming.

Primary Responsibilities

• Promotes ACYAS’s visibility through participation and membership in community forums, social organizations, and activities that align with the organization’s mission and vision.

• Develops and implements a communication plan that provides a clear and concise message of the organization’s mission, both internally and externally.

• Collaborates effectively with partner agencies to maximize resource utilization, ensure services are rendered effectively, and identify opportunities for growth/additional community impact.

• Ensures compliance in operations, programs, regulatory bodies, and services with all relevant legislation, laws, and regulations.

• Designs, reviews, maintains, and supports implements of operational policies and guidelines for ACYAS programs.

• Ensures service delivery excellence and organizational stability through the development and implementation of standards (CARF).

• Mentors and coaches’ senior leadership to deliver high-quality, innovative, and responsive programs and services for employees and persons served, while developing leaders capable of responding to current and future growth.

• Creates, facilitates, and supports a high performing culture aligned with ACYAS’s core values.

• Promotes a culture of trust, transparency, and collaboration at all levels of the organization.

• Ensures effective decision-making processes are implemented to achieve short- and long-term strategic goals.

• Fosters collaboration and innovative thinking across the organization.

• Ensures ACYAS hiring, development, and performance-management processes are grounded in organizational values, while demonstrating a consistent commitment to representing and reflecting the communities it serves.

• Uses data to make informed organizational decisions, guide strategic change, improve service quality, and increase the organization community profile.

• Monitors emerging needs and trends among key stakeholders such as persons-served, employees, the local community, and Provincial and Federal funders.

• Builds ACYAS’s capacity to leverage program outcomes and experiences to influence policy and support systemic change.

Required Qualifications

•University Degree in Social Services or equivalent. (Masters is preferred)

•Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a senior leadership role ideally within the social services sector.

•Valid BC Class 5 Drivers License.

•Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

•Working knowledge of federal and provincial funding programs and reporting requirements.

•Ability to maintain order within an environment of changing priorities, practice sound crisis management, accept responsibility and achieve results through self-motivation and the promotion of teamwork.

•Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to represent the organization externally across a wide range of stakeholders.

•Demonstrated experience creating and managing high-performing executive teams.

•Experience with organizational planning, organizational structure, budgeting, change management, and performance measurement and outcomes.

•Demonstrated ability to analyze and compile complex data to make informed decision at an organizational level based on sectorial and political trends.

•Must be sensitive to and respectful of cultural differences, differences in socio-economic status and lifestyle diversity.
