Location: Dryden, Ontario
Position Type: Part-time – 30 hours/week, Monday to Thursday
Compensation: $30/hour
About the Role
As Executive Director, you’ll be responsible for the leadership, strategic planning, and day-to-day operations of the Dryden District Chamber of Commerce. This includes advocating for local businesses, overseeing financial and administrative duties, coordinating events and programs, and fostering relationships across the community.
A key component of this role involves actively promoting the value of Chamber membership including outreach through conversation and networking, to drive revenue growth through membership sales, sponsorships, event marketing, and other creative revenue-generating initiatives. You will work to secure partnerships that support the Chamber’s long-term sustainability. You’ll work closely with the Chamber’s Board of Directors to implement goals and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
•Lead the execution of the Chamber’s Strategic Plan
•Represent the Chamber publicly and advocate for business-friendly policy
•Grow and engage Chamber membership through recruitment and retention efforts
•Generate revenue through sponsorship sales, membership promotion, and fundraising
•Plan and manage events, programs, and marketing initiatives
•Oversee financial operations, budgeting, and grant applications
•Support staff and volunteers as needed
•Report regularly to the Board of Directors
•Stay current on legislative and industry trends impacting local business
Qualifications
•High School Diploma required; post-secondary education in a related field is preferred
•Experience in leadership, management, sales, or non-profit settings is an asset
•Proven ability to build relationships and close sales or sponsorships
•Proficient with Microsoft Office and willing to learn accounting/CRM software
•Excellent communication and organizational skills
•Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
•Valid Class G driver’s license
Additional Details
This is a flexible leadership role requiring 30 hours/week, with occasional evening or weekend commitments for events. The position includes three weeks of paid vacation.
