About the Organization
The Family Violence Consortium of Manitoba (FVCM) Backbone Organization is a nonprofit entity serving as the coordinating body for a network of 30+ organizations collectively known asThe Collective. Through aCollective Impact approach, the organization seeks to improve outcomes for survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) by fostering collaboration, building capacity, driving shared advocacy, and supporting systems-level change.
FVCM operates from a foundation ofintersectionality, decolonial practice, trauma-informed care, and survivor-centred leadership, engaging stakeholders that span government, health care, social services, Indigenous leadership, education, funders, law enforcement, and community advocates.
The Opportunity
On behalf of FVCM, we are seeking anExecutive Director (ED)to lead the next phase of this growing, cross-sector initiative. This is a rare opportunity for a visionary and action-oriented leader to guide an ambitious and values-driven movement for systemic change in Manitoba’s GBV sector.
This role is both strategic and hands-on. It is ideal for a leader who is energized by complexity, motivated by social impact, and skilled in relationship-building across sectors, communities, and levels of power. The ED will work closely with the Advisory Committee, Collective members, staff, and community allies to align efforts, build trust, and ensure the long-term success of the backbone organization.
